St Vincents National Wildlife Refuge is a short boat ride from the mainland of the Florida Panhandle near Apalachicola. We walked a sandy road for about a mile more or less in the middle of the island and then turned towards the Gulf of Mexico and passed this peaceful marsh and pond in a swampy area. The image of the marsh is composited from 5 original photos of the swamp.

I walked around Apalachicola in search of photos and came to Lafayette Park, where I found this Gazebo just before sunset. The picture of the gazebo had some pretty intense highlights that I thought might require an HDR rendition, but the dynamic range for the photograph was fully captured in my RAW file.

In my walking about, I came across this Catholic church in Apalachicola and had to photograph it. The clean lines of the stucco, palm tree shadow, and the orange-red tile roof against the blue sky was irrestible.

When I reached the wharf in Apalachicola the water was mirror still and a small oystering boat was motoring slowly out for a day's work, while the white shrimp boats rode at rest and the early morning sun cast shadows of the posts on the deck of the wharf.

On closer inspection, the interplay of the steel booms and masts, and ropes and cables and netting form a complex pattern of intersecting lines with multiple blue triangles.
